Simone Biles
Simone Biles was an American gymnast born March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. She is considered by many to be among the top athletes. She was the first female gymnast from America ever to win four gold medals at the same Games. In Rio de Janeiro, she was also the first female to ever win consecutive World All-Around titles. Biles and her younger sister Adria, who were adopted by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles their grandparents in Spring Texas (in the Houston region) were raised there. Simone was introduced to gymnastics by her teacher at daycare Aimee Borman when she was 6 years old. Biles stayed with Bannon's Gymnastix for 11 years. Biles took home a medal for vaulting, and a bronze medal in floor during the 2010 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. The year 2011 saw her begin participating in the elite level of gymnastics competition. Within two years, she been the best in this particular event. Biles was notable for her consistent performance, exuberant character, as well as the difficulty she encountered in the four events she competed in: vaulting, uneven bars and the balance beam.
