Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. Her albums span over 20 years. DiFranco describes her music as folk-rock and alternative. However, it has influences from punk, hip-hop, and jazz. Ani DiFranco was among the first artist to launch her own label in 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd of 1970, the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco The couple had been in contact while at an institution called the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother was born in Montreal and her father is of Italian origins. Ani DiFranco wrote and sang 32 Flavors. The song was featured on her fifth studio album Not a Pretty Girl which came out in 1995. The song was featured in the soundtrack of the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco apologized for hosting a workshop in Louisiana in an old slave plantation. Although she cancelled the workshop however, a lot of individuals (including our paper) were not able to feel regret. DiFranco released an apology just a few weeks later. While she's best known as Little Folksinger, her music encompasses many different styles. Her collaborators range from Pete Seeger and Chuck D to Prince. She is from New Orleans.
